Dr Pierre Blanchet est neurologue et chercheur. Ses travaux de recherche portent principalement sur les troubles moteurs chez les patients.
Les intérêts de recherche du Dr Blanchet portent chez les personnes souffrant d’un syndrome parkinsonien, ainsi que chez les patients schizophrènes traités de manière prolongée avec des neuroleptiques et souffrant de dyskinésie. Il pilote notamment des essais cliniques chez les personnes souffrant de mouvements involontaires du visage, de la bouche et de la mâchoire (dyskinésie bucco-faciale) et s’intéresse à la corrélation entre la dyskinésie bucco-faciale et la santé bucco-dentaire.
